Talk to any acoustics or audio pro and
they will tell you that diffusion is the
final piece that can turn a good sounding
room into a great one if used properly.
Giving a sense of spaciousness to your music
(or recording room) by breaking up that
zingy, slap echo in a room without deadening
it too much. In the past, diffusers have
either been so shallow that they're ineffective
on mid and lower frequencies, used random
shapes that offer no mathematical diffusion
resulting in uneven scattering or they've
been so expensive that they're not a viable
solution for many users.
Finally, a reasonably priced diffusion
solution! GIK is proud to introduce the
GIK D1 diffuser. A step up from a standard
QRD design, the GIK D1 uses curved surfaces
on some of the faces to extend the high
frequency limit to which the diffuser works.
The D1 has a usable range of approximately
500Hz to over 10kHz and does not exhibit
lobing (uneven scattering) problems at 3500Hz
so typical with many other 7 root diffusers
of comparable size. A space is available
in the rear of the diffuser to allow insertion
of rigid fiberglass, mineral wool, or acoustical
cotton to provide additional low frequency
absorption while still maintaining excellent
broadband diffusion.
The D1 is made from lightweight yet strong
ABS, withstanding well over 150 pounds of
pressure. It's washable and paintable to
match your interior or other treatments
or can be hung as is. The D1 is made using
a thermoforming process that provides exceptional
precision and repeatability during manufacturing.
For a limited time, GIK will be offering
the D1 for a special introductory price
of $99.00 each (reg $129.00) and sold in
boxes of 2 for $198.00
