The Simplest Ceiling Install

These custom brackets make turning any GIK panel into a ceiling cloud fast, secure, and great-looking. By holding the panel 4" off the ceiling, they add both a floating aesthetic and noticeably better acoustic performance. With just two fasteners per panel, any installer will find the process straightforward. These acoustic ceiling hangers are designed for strength and maximum acoustic performance, making them the most reliable ceiling cloud brackets for professional ceiling treatment.

Why Use Ceiling Cloud Mounting Brackets?

The ceiling is one of the most underutilized surfaces for acoustic treatment, in part because installing panels there is more labor-intensive than wall mounting. Mounted acoustic ceiling panels play a key role in improving acoustic insulation, controlling reverberation, and minimizing first reflections from the ceiling to your ears. With the proper mounting hardware, you can turn your ceiling into a powerful sound-control surface in commercial spaces and home rooms alike. A suspended ceiling cloud is far more reliable than adhesive mounting or impaling clips that can fail.

Our acoustic panel ceiling mounting brackets make this process simple. Each bracket set mounts directly to the ceiling with just two fasteners, minimizing impact on your drywall or other ceiling surface. The brackets create a consistent 4″ air gap, giving the ceiling panels a "floating" look and better results.

This air gap enhances performance by increasing sound absorption efficiency compared to a flush mount. Sound waves pass through the panel, reflect off the ceiling, and pass through again at full velocity, increasing energy absorbed. The ceiling height and ceiling drop are fixed by the bracket design, so every panel hangs at the same consistent depth. Use the thickest panels you can tolerate for the best low-frequency performance, along with corner bass traps and other devices as part of a broader treatment strategy.

A Clean, Floating Look

These acoustic panel ceiling cloud mounting brackets give your acoustic cloud a modern, floating aesthetic. Rather than pressing the panel flush against the ceiling like with Z-clips, the suspended design gives your treatment a professional look that's perfect for home theaters, listening rooms, and conference spaces alike.

Whether you're working with a custom size, creating a multi-panel cloud, or integrating wall panels and other acoustic panels into your broader (DIY or otherwise) ceiling systems, our heavy-duty acoustic ceiling brackets are a complete installation kit for most of GIK's sound panels. The metal frame construction is built to last.

Each set includes 2 cloud brackets, all required screws and anchors, and installation instructions. All you need is a drill and a screwdriver. No threaded rod, battens, resilient bars, or complex ceiling grid required. They're in stock and ready to ship. Add them to your cart — one set per panel, any qty — and check out.

Use with any GIK Acoustics Panel

For optimal performance, pair your brackets with GIK Acoustics ceiling panels. Mounting acoustic panels or bass traps overhead can be tricky. We’ve taken the difficulty out of the equation with our Cloud Mounting Brackets©. Not only are they easy to use, but they’re also easy on your budget. The fixing method works with standard plasterboard, dry-lining, and timber joist ceilings. It’s the ideal solution for mounting acoustic panels, rigid baffles, or bass traps on ceilings.

FAQ

What panels can I hang with these brackets?

The brackets work with any of GIK’s product range, including standard, FlexRange, and Amplitude panels. That flexibility lets you choose the thickness and performance level you want for your ceiling clouds.

How difficult are they to install?

Installation is straightforward. Plan carefully (measure twice, cut once). Each kit comes with a pair of heavy-duty acoustic ceiling brackets and all required hardware, including fasteners. One end of the brackets screws into the rear of the panel, and the other end slides over the ceiling anchors you’ll install. Most users find that setup takes only a few minutes per panel. These panels are designed to perform well while maintaining a straightforward, seamless user experience during installation.

How far under the ceiling are the panels with these brackets?

The brackets create a 4" gap between the back of the panel and the ceiling. This floating look not only adds a clean aesthetic but also noticeably improves acoustic performance. It also provides a way to install indirect lighting with the many modern options people are working with.

Can the brackets support heavy panels safely?

Yes. The brackets safely support the weight of GIK’s heaviest absorbers, including our thickest bass traps. Once properly installed, you’ll have a secure, professional mounting solution that keeps panels firmly in place overhead.

Can the brackets be used with non-GIK panels?

We designed these brackets for GIK products, with their proven performance, appearance, and made with GIK’s commitment to health and sustainability. But they also support any acoustic panel or baffle with an internal wood frame holding mineral wool, fiberglass, rockwool, or similar absorbent materials. Just remember, panels like these are designed to improve sound quality; soundproofing is a different problem and may require different solutions.
