Performance You Can Trust

Every GIK product is tested at the world-renowned University of Salford, following BS EN ISO 354:2003 standards. This scientific approach not only ensures complete transparency in how our products perform, but also drives our R&D process. So every panel, bass trap, or diffuser we release is engineered to deliver results you can trust.

Materials
Camira Cara Fabrics

GIK is excited to use the Camira Cara fabric line standard in all our products. The Camira fabric will look familiar to fans of Guilford of Maine fabrics, similar to their FR701 line but with different color options. With a richer aesthetic and tactile feel and wider range of available colors compared to our previous standard offerings, Camira Cara allows every product to look as good as it performs.

Sustainability

GIK Acoustics has long prioritized sustainability as a guiding principle. We carefully select materials that balance acoustic performance with environmental responsibility, sourcing from suppliers who share our commitment to reducing waste and carbon impact. Our products use durable, recyclable components that minimize landfill waste while maintaining the highest acoustic standards.

Health & Safety

Health and safety are built into every GIK product. All materials—including fabrics, cores, and wood elements—are formaldehyde-free, low-VOC, and independently tested for indoor air quality. This ensures our treatments are safe for studios, homes, schools, and offices alike. We believe superior acoustics should never come at the expense of well-being, which is why our products are made with clean, non-toxic materials that protect both the people who use them and the spaces where they’re installed.

Care Instructions
Camira Cara Fabric

Vacuum regularly. Wipe with a damp cloth using soap and water or use proprietary upholstery shampoo. For deeper cleaning use bleach or alcohol.

Veneer Finishes

Clean with a soft cloth or soft brush, lightly dampened with kukewarm PH-neutral, soapy water. Do not use solvents or chemical cleaners, but cleaning can be done with alcohol-based cleaners. Finally, wipe with a damp cloth afterward.

Another 1D Option

The GIK Acoustics Q11D Diffuser extends the performance of one-dimensional quadratic diffusion with an 11-root well sequence, offering a tighter distribution of wells and voiced slightly higher in the midrange than the Q7D. It is CNC-cut from durable, high-quality wood laminates with precision tolerances to ensure even diffusion and clean visual appeal.

Ideal Placements

• Rear wall diffusion in mix, mastering, or listening rooms
• Behind dipole or open-baffle speakers
• Across the front wall or rear side walls of two-channel or surround systems
• In live rooms for percussion and acoustic instrument tracking

Design Philosophy

"Quadratic diffusors are the gold standard when it comes to predictable, consistent 1D diffusion. These are the right device when you need to maintain as much mid and high frequency decay in a space, while still providing control over reflections and flutter. The Q11 is a higher frequency diffusor than a Q7d with more complexity due to the higher number of wells. It has scattering effects down to 573Hz, with even diffusion up to 3909Hz. This type of quadratic diffusion excels in large spaces, live rooms, and auditoria where a smooth, even midrange decay time is desired." -- Mike Major, Designer

Pairs well with Q7Ds

Compared to the Q7D, the Q11D is slightly wider and features more numerous, narrower wells, offering a complementary aesthetic and performance profile when used together. The matched height allows Q7D and Q11D units to be installed side-by-side in alternating sequences for broader and more complex scattering behavior.

FAQ

What is the Q11D and how is it different from the Q7D?

The Q11D is an 11-root quadratic diffusor, meaning it has a deeper sequence that scatters sound across a broader range of frequencies than the Q7D. It's performance is similar to a Q7D with a slightly higher midrange voicing that complements the Q7D nicely.

Where should I use the Q11D in my room?

The Q11D is well-suited for rear walls and rear side walls in studios, control rooms, and home theaters. Its broader diffusion pattern helps break up strong reflections and enhances envelopment in larger or more critical listening environments.

Does the Q11D absorb sound as well as diffuse it?

No. Like the Q7D, the Q11D is a pure diffuser. It scatters sound energy without absorbing it, which keeps the room lively while preventing harsh echoes. For the best results, pair it with absorbers or bass traps to balance decay times.

Who benefits most from adding Q11D diffusors?

The Q11D is ideal for mixing and mastering engineers, high-end listening rooms, and home theaters where you want a natural sense of depth and space without deadening the room. Its ability to diffuse lower frequencies makes it particularly valuable in professional or audiophile-grade setups.
