Performance You Can Trust

Every GIK product is tested at the world-renowned University of Salford, following BS EN ISO 354:2003 standards. This scientific approach not only ensures complete transparency in how our products perform, but also drives our R&D process. So every panel, bass trap, or diffuser we release is engineered to deliver results you can trust.

Materials
Camira Cara Fabrics

GIK is excited to use the Camira Cara fabric line standard in all our products. The Camira fabric will look familiar to fans of Guilford of Maine fabrics, similar to their FR701 line but with different color options. With a richer aesthetic and tactile feel and wider range of available colors compared to our previous standard offerings, Camira Cara allows every product to look as good as it performs.

Sustainability

GIK Acoustics has long prioritized sustainability as a guiding principle. We carefully select materials that balance acoustic performance with environmental responsibility, sourcing from suppliers who share our commitment to reducing waste and carbon impact. Our products use durable, recyclable components that minimize landfill waste while maintaining the highest acoustic standards.

Health & Safety

Health and safety are built into every GIK product. All materials—including fabrics, cores, and wood elements—are formaldehyde-free, low-VOC, and independently tested for indoor air quality. This ensures our treatments are safe for studios, homes, schools, and offices alike. We believe superior acoustics should never come at the expense of well-being, which is why our products are made with clean, non-toxic materials that protect both the people who use them and the spaces where they’re installed.

Care Instructions
Camira Cara Fabric

Vacuum regularly. Wipe with a damp cloth using soap and water or use proprietary upholstery shampoo. For deeper cleaning use bleach or alcohol.

Veneer Finishes

Clean with a soft cloth or soft brush, lightly dampened with kukewarm PH-neutral, soapy water. Do not use solvents or chemical cleaners, but cleaning can be done with alcohol-based cleaners. Finally, wipe with a damp cloth afterward.

2-Dimensional Diffusion Arrays

The striking look of the Gotham Primitive Root Diffuser brings with it unparalleled performance: turning damaging reflections into a sonically pleasing diffused sound field, while controlling yet retaining higher frequencies, and making the room sound larger than it is.

Overview

Our quadratic sound diffuser design – more accurately called a two-dimensional diffuser design – has the advantage of scattering sound across two planes: horizontal (left & right) and vertical (up & down). This two-dimensional scattering broadens the soundscape and makes a room sound larger.

High Performance Diffusion

Many sound diffusers available on the market today are simply random blocks in a series and are not calculated to give TRUE even acoustic diffusion. GIK Acoustics’ Gotham Primitive Root Diffuser has a 23-root, calculated quadratic sequence which is machine cut within 120th of a inch. The design and painstaking attention to detail makes each diffuser perfect from the 1st to the 100th.

Placement Ideas

The Gotham Primitive Root Diffuser is an attractive choice for a room where high frequency chaos needs to be controlled but not removed. Our quadratic sound diffuser is best suited to spreading high frequencies out in a room.

In a control room, Gothams can be used on the front and back walls, and rear sidewalls to keep the reverberation better mixed. In home theater and two-channel audio rooms, Gothams can be utilized arranged as a wall on the rear or sidewalls, or behind dipole speakers, to round off sharp reflections.

FAQ

Can Gotham Diffusors be used together to create larger patterns?

Yes. These diffusors are designed to be used adjacent to one another, forming continuous arrays that both improve performance and create striking visual patterns on your wall.

What’s the difference between 1D and 2D diffusion?

A 1D diffusor scatters sound left and right (assuming vertical mounting), while a 2D design scatters in both horizontal and vertical planes. The 1D pattern is actually more efficient, producing more total diffusion even though it’s only across one plane.

Where are the best places to install Gotham Diffusors?

They work well on rear walls, side walls, or ceilings where you want to maintain energy in the room while breaking up harsh reflections. They’re excellent for studios, listening rooms, and home theaters that benefit from spaciousness without added echo.

Do Gotham Diffusors provide absorption too?

No, they are pure diffusors designed to scatter sound energy. For best results, combine them with absorbers or hybrid panels to achieve both balanced decay times and a lively, natural sound.
