GIK Acoustics recently visited the University of Salford’s world-renowned Acoustics Laboratories to support independent testing and deeper investigation into how acoustic treatments perform in both laboratory and real-world conditions. The visit focused on measurement methodology, transparency, and the limits of standardized testing when applied to real listening rooms. By working alongside Salford’s research team, GIK explored how placement, spacing, and installation affect absorption and isolation performance, and why context matters as much as published numbers. The article highlights why independent testing, careful interpretation, and real-world relevance are essential to creating trustworthy acoustic solutions and meaningful performance data.
