Longtime visitors to gikacoustics.com will notice that things look a little bit different! We've just launched an exciting new website with numerous changes. The site looks better of course, but there is also some new functionality, along with some changes to our product line. This article will go over the changes, which might otherwise be confusing.

New Products, New Names

GIK Acoustics has not only introduced a few brand-new products, but has also reimagined its entire product lineup to make it easier than ever to understand, compare, and select the right treatments for any space. Our panels and bass traps are now organized into four distinct lines—Classic, FlexRange, Amplitude, and SlatFusor—each representing a different balance of simplicity, performance, and aesthetic character. Every line now follows a unified sizing system across both US and international markets, allowing you to mix and match freely while maintaining a consistent visual look and predictable acoustic performance.

One key difference in all these product lines: rather than confusing names for each individual product, we now refer to the different panels in the line by the lowest frequencies they target rather than the thickness. And, 3 of the above 4 product lines now have an option for an 8" thick absorber for even better low-end performance than you've come to expect from our 6" panels. This table lays out the new product names, the lowest frequencies they work, and all the available options:

As you can see, there are a lot of familiar names in here, for example a 244 is now called a "90Hz FlexRange Bass Trap Panel". An Alpha 6A is now called an "80Hz Amplitude Bass Trap Panel." By including more descriptive content in each product's name, it's easier to keep straight what each product does based on its name alone.

With this in mind, let's take a closer look at the 4 product lines GIK is offering.

Classic

The Classic Line forms the foundation of the new range. It replaces the old Spot Panels and B4s, expanding the concept into a full family of broadband absorbers available in four thicknesses for better and better low end performance. The 200Hz Classic Acoustic Panel provides effective mid and high frequency control, while the 100Hz version extends into the upper bass range. Two new additions, the 50Hz and 60Hz Classic Bass Trap Panels, push performance even deeper, reaching down below 60Hz. These panels are simple, reliable workhorses that deliver excellent broadband control in any environment, from studios to offices to home theaters.

FlexRange

Above the Classic range sits the FlexRange Line, evolved from our well-known 242, 244, and Monster panels. These designs retain the core broadband absorption concept but add the Patented FlexRange frame design bringing several benefits. The 6cm|1.5in recessed airgap behind the frame conceals the mounting hardware for a cleaner look, increases the visible panel thickness, and provides a measurable improvement in low frequency absorption. All FlexRange panels are available with Range Limiters or Scatter Plates under the fabric to cover a wide range of performance needs. FlexRange panels come in four low frequency performance ranges down to 50Hz. FlexRange panels are the most versatile broadband absorbers we’ve ever produced, ideal for anyone seeking a balance of full-spectrum performance and flexible installation options.

Amplitude

The Amplitude Line represents a complete rebranding and unification of our previous Alpha and Impression Series into a single, cohesive family. Both the mathematically derived Alpha diffusion plates and the visually distinctive Impression patterns remain available, but now they share one refined construction with new recessed plates and cleaner edge transitions. The Amplitude panels offer hybrid performance—absorbing, scattering, and diffusing sound simultaneously—and are available in the same four standard low frequency ranges as the other lines, including a new 20cm|8in model that extends hybrid performance to below 60Hz. This line is designed for rooms that demand both visual sophistication and precise acoustic balance.

SlatFusor

The SlatFusor Line continues largely unchanged, now fully integrated into the unified product system. It combines the warmth of natural wood finishes with broadband absorption, offering a refined architectural aesthetic for studios, theaters, and listening rooms. The same 2-, 4-, and 6-inch versions remain available, providing the tonal and visual richness that have made SlatFusors a favorite among designers and engineers alike.

And A Few New Products!

In addition to this renaming to simplify and unify our main product lines, we've also introduced a few new products. First is the thicker versions that work at lower frequencies than ever, as described above in most of the product ranges. Plus there are two new products we are excited about:

Next is the Q11D Quadratic Residue Diffuser. The Q11D is a precision-cut, 11-root one-dimensional quadratic diffuser that adds rich spatial depth and clarity to any critical audio environment as part of a complete treatment strategy. Slightly wider than the Q7D but sharing the same height, the Q11D features narrower wells for a voicing slightly higher in the midrange, while visually complementing the Q7D for modular arrays. The Q11D is available in multiple finishes and in both standard and Demi sizes for creative layout flexibility.

More Consistent Panel Sizes

To make global selection and installation easier, all four product lines now use standardized sizes: 60x120cm|23.6x47.2in Rectangle panels, 30x120cm|11.8x47.2in Narrow panels, 60x60cm|23.6x23..6in Square panels, and 60x90cm|23.6x35.4in Portrait panels. This unified format ensures every GIK product can integrate seamlessly within a room layout, making it easier to mix different lines within the same design while preserving visual symmetry and predictable performance. The result is a cleaner, clearer product structure that makes it simple to design acoustically balanced, aesthetically cohesive spaces—whether you’re building a world-class mastering room or refining the sound of your home studio.

Camira Fabrics

We've also upgraded our main fabric line; Camira Cara fabric is now our Standard fabric for all panels. With a familiar look, feel, and performance, Camira Cara offers a wide range of color options at a lower cost than previous upgrades, making it a smart choice. Moving forward we will still offer the Guilford of Maine fabrics as a special order, and we will keep a supply of our older, polyester poplin-style Standard Fabrics for those clients who want to get new panels to match their older ones. But moving forward, having Camira Cara fabric as standard for GIK products globally is a very exciting upgrade.

Integrated Visualizer

The new website also brings much tighter integration with our Roomle Acoustic Room Visualizer. You can now use this technology on all the product pages to build out your panels when you order them. We have an even better feature coming very soon: if you draw your room in the Visualizer, it will automatically generate a cart containing all the panels (with all the color options etc you've chosen) with it. They are integrated as one!

Free Consultation

GIK has always been committed to helping people understand the best acoustic solutions for their room. We have a lot of products, and there is a bit of a learning curve when it comes to understanding acoustics problems and solution. We are shifting the focus of this service into "free consultation", which is a better descriptor than the "free advice" GIK has pioneered since its inception.

At GIK Acoustics, expert advice isn't an add-on — it’s part of our commitment to helping you get the best possible sound from your space and our products. Whether you're setting up your first studio, fine-tuning a high-end room, or simply trying to solve a specific challenge, our experienced consultants are here to help with your acoustics journey.
