Dave Denyer published an article entitled “We Need to Talk About Room Acoustics” on his website, https://thereeltoreelrambler.com/, where he regularly reviews hifi products and muses as an audiophile and writer.

He writes, “For some reason it seems that us audiophiles don’t tend to talk much about room acoustics. Which is odd when you think about it, since no professional recording studio or live music venue would be heard dead without a whole heap of serious acoustic considerations in place. In fact, when you really think about it, it’s verging on downright madness that we’re quite so silent on the subject, since we’re constantly obsessing about the control,”

He discusses his initial need for acoustic panels during a Hifi show at the Ascot, where the glass walls of the room added harsh reflections to the listening experience. Afterwards, he added new acoustic treatments to his home, and talks about the experience. He outlines several cases and arguments for acoustically treating any space where audio is important.
